Yuja Wang Biometric Experiment

In January 2023, famed classical pianist Yuja Wang pulled off what many consider to be the most impressive display of stamina and virtuosity in classical music. 3 hours of performance. 80,000 notes. 5 of the most difficult piano concertos. What most people don’t know is that we convinced Yuja, conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, members of the orchestra, and some audience wearable devices to put on wearable devices to track their heart rate in real time to measure over the marathon performance. The film analyzes the results with Yuja and reveals insightful truths about the impact live music has on those playing & hearing it.
